Community Foundation Announces 2020 IMPACT Youth Grants

ASHLAND – Ashland County Community Foundation’s IMPACT Youth Council, with ratification by the
Board of Trustees, approved IMPACT Youth Grants for 2020.

Eleven organizations serving Ashland County youth were awarded grants totaling $9,330.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, ACCF is providing as much flexibility as possible for grant recipients.
While a majority of recipients still plan to use the grants for their intended purposes within the next
year, some are shifting to virtual activities or modifying timelines for programs and projects.

The following organizations received grants:

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center was awarded a grant to purchase SPARK program
early childhood educational materials.
Ashland City Schools received a grant to support “Meet the Bard – Introduction to Shakespeare,”
a workshop and assessment for middle school students.
Ashland City Schools was awarded a grant to purchase equipment and supplies for the Book
Brigade project to promote reading.
Brethren Care Village, LLC received a grant to purchase supplies for the Senior-Youth Connection
project.
Catholic Charities Corp. – Ashland County was awarded a grant to support Ashland Connects to
Teens Mentoring program.
Flying Horse Farms received a grant to provide camp experiences to Ashland County children
with serious illness
Kiwanis Club of Ashland was awarded a grant for 2020 Safety Town program equipment.
Loudonville Church Women, Inc. received a grant to support the Back to School Open House
project.
Loudonville Theatre & Arts Committee was awarded a grant to support the Ohio Theatre
Children’s Chorus.
Savannah Lions Club received a grant to help fund the Savannah Summer Youth program.
Appleseed Community Mental Health Center received a grant to enhance Safe Haven’s youth




IMPACT Youth Grants are competitive grants awarded by ACCF to 501(c)(3) and other qualifying
charitable organizations in support of projects and initiatives specifically designed to benefit the youth
of Ashland County.

Grant recipients are chosen by ACCF’s IMPACT Youth Council, a committee of student volunteers from
Ashland County high schools.

The application deadline for IMPACT Youth grants is February 1 of each year. Inquiries can be made by
