Dr. W. Stanford and Diana Brechbuhler

Stan and Diana met at Ohio State University while Diana was an undergraduate student and Stan was in medical school. They married in 1966 and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for Stan’s Orthopedic Surgery residency and spent 10 years there before returning to Ohio in 1979. They purchased a 140-acre farm on which they raised their four sons, as well as sheep, beef cattle, and crops.

Diana is presently on the Ashland Symphony Orchestra Board and is Chair of the Women’s Fund of the ACCF. She has been President of the Hillsdale Academic Boosters as well as a member of the Hillsdale Local School Board. In addition to his orthopedic practice, from which he retired after 30 years, Stan has been on the boards of Samaritan Hospital, Ashland Symphony Orchestra, Ashland County Community Foundation, Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, and past President of the Hillsdale Academic Boosters. They are members of First Christian Church. Stan and Diana enjoy traveling from Ohio to Wisconsin, Montana, and California to visit their children and grandchildren.

“The ACCF provides a way for us to give back to a community which has provided a nurturing atmosphere for our children and a prosperous life. All of our sons are drawn to smaller communities due to the positive impact of the Ashland community on their lives. By supporting the ACCF financially, we can help generations to come.”
