Ashland Chautauqua establishes endowment at ACCF

ASHLAND – Ashland Chautauqua was selected to participate in the Ashland County Community Foundation (ACCF) Silver Anniversary Agency Endowment Challenge.

The Ashland Chautauqua planning committee met the challenge by raising $5,000, which was matched by ACCF to create a $10,000 endowment fund.

The fundraising appeal for the endowment was made to individuals and families who are long-term, dedicated donors to Ashland Chautauqua. Every member of the planning committee donated prior to this appeal.

By becoming an Agency Partner of ACCF with the creation of this endowment fund, Ashland Chautauqua can build greater financial sustainability.

“We are extremely grateful to the Ashland County Community Foundation for selecting Ashland Chautauqua for their endowment challenge,” said Deleasa Randall-Griffiths, Co-Chair of the Ashland Chautauqua Committee. “We successfully received their match because of the many faithful supporters who partnered with us by donating to the fund above their regular, annual support to Ashland Chautauqua.”

Randall-Griffiths stressed the excitement of the committee to have this fund and how it will provide long-term stability, growth and new opportunities for Ashland Chautauqua.

The endowment will provide Ashland Chautauqua with an annual source of funding for special projects and/or to expand features of the popular regular summer programming. It does not replace the annual donations to Ashland Chautauqua that sustain the five evening performances and the workshops every year in July.

Contributions by donors and pass-the-hat gifts during the events will continue to be important sources of income.

Continuing to grow the endowment would result in more funding available for special projects each year.
