Women's Fund announces 2025 grants

ASHLAND – Ashland County Community Foundation recently awarded 13 Women’s Fund Grants to support and empower women in Ashland County.

The following organizations received grants totaling $39,827:

Acts 4 Love received a grant to provide cancer capes for kids.

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center received a grant to fund a healthy eating cooking class for adults with mental health needs.

Ashland Christian Health Center received a grant to provide mammograms and gynecological care for women in need who are uninsured or underinsured.

Ashland Special Needs Ministry received a grant to fund a Moms’ Getaway for mothers of children with disabilities.

Firelands Ambulance Service Volunteer Association received a grant to purchase neonatal, pediatric and obstetric-specific simulation equipment for use in training EMS volunteers.

Mission to Amish People received a grant to support a career development program, and enhance security features for young women new to English-speaking life, enabling them to successfully transition and thrive in their new community.

North Central State College Foundation received a grant to implement an Ashland County Feeding Roots Project for NC State students and their families to ease the burden of hunger, and allow them to focus on their educational goals.

Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven/Appleseed received a grant for installing access controls, and installing/configuring an intercom system that is compatible with the current phone system, in order to improve the safety and security of those at the shelter.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio received a grant to fund a home-away-from-home for Ashland County families with children requiring medical care in central Ohio hospitals.

The Salvation Army received a grant to fund Summer Day Camp Before and After Care Scholarships for low-income families.

United Church Residences of Ashland Ohio Inc.  (Mill Run Place) received a grant to fund basic needs – such as cleaning supplies, personal care items and food – for the low-income, older adult residents who are struggling to afford these critical care items due to inflation.

The following organizations were awarded proactive grants from the Women’s Fund to help with programming: Acts 4 Love and Foundations Community Childcare.

The Women’s Fund of Ashland County Community Foundation was established in 2004 to create a permanent legacy that enhances the lives of women in Ashland County.

Women’s Fund Grants are competitive grants awarded by ACCF to 501(c)(3) and other qualifying charitable organizations in support of projects and initiatives specifically designed to support and empower women in Ashland County. Grant recipients are chosen by the Women’s Fund Steering Committee of Ashland County Community Foundation.
