Acts 4 Love provides comfort to kids

One local nonprofit organization wants to provide comfort where they can for kids going through the daunting experience of being treated for cancer. A recent Women’s Fund grant awarded to Acts 4 Love enabled the organization to purchase needed supplies to provide colorful, cozy capes for kids dealing with cancer treatments.

Volunteers sew these to help relieve the suffering of a day that may be filled with procedures, pain, and discomfort. Once completed, these capes are brought to Akron Children’s Hospital or whatever group requests the capes, including those in Ashland and surrounding areas. The capes are designed and sewn at New Life Church in Ashland.

“We are extremely grateful for the partnership of being able to provide the cancer capes for the children, as well as providing an outlet for some gifted volunteers to be able to use their time and talents to give back to our local communities,” said Bonnie White, president, Acts 4 Love.
