Scholarship Fund created in honor of Ian Atkinson
ASHLAND – Ian Atkinson is remembered as a hard worker, lover of the Lord Jesus Christ and someone who was dedicated to his family. The Hillsdale High School graduate was an honor-roll student, athlete, and known for being a natural leader.
After passing away from a tragic farming accident in July, his friends and family are honoring and remembering him by establishing a scholarship in his name at Ashland County Community Foundation: the Ian Atkinson Scholarship Fund. They welcome those who wish to honor Ian to contribute to this scholarship fund.
Ian’s parents, Jeff and Meghin, describe Ian as trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
He loved building things, especially 3D puzzles; roller skating; and reading the Bible with his family. Ian’s strong dedication to following the biblical teachings of and his belief in the Lord Jesus Christ who is God Almighty are qualities Jeff and Meghin hope recipients of this scholarship will reflect, along with a strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
The scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Hillsdale High School who plan to attend a trade/technical/vocational school and have maintained a grade point average of 2.8 and above.
