Ralph and Betty Jo Tomassi met as students at AshlandUniversity in 1977. They have been Ashland residents since their marriage in 1981. Ralph has been employed by Ashland University for more than 27 years in the areas of admissions and development. Betty Jo has worked in advertising and public relations while maintaining her interest in buying and selling antiques.

The Tomassi’s believe in the saying, “You make a living by what you get—you make a life by what you give.” They have been, and continue to be, supportive of many community causes. Through their gift to the Foundation, they have designated two endowment funds which will benefit community beautification and underprivileged youth. They strongly believe that the Foundation contributes to and enhances the quality of life in Ashland County in perpetuity.
